AP-02 is a peptide-based therapeutic candidate being developed by Apmonia Therapeutics for the management of thrombotic disorders and the prevention of major cardiovascular events, including stroke and myocardial infarction. Utilizing the company's proprietary TAX2 peptide technology, AP-02 specifically targets the protein-protein interaction between thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) and the CD47 receptor. This interaction is known to drive platelet activation and promote thrombosis; by antagonizing this axis, AP-02 aims to provide a potent antiplatelet effect while minimizing the bleeding risks typically associated with standard therapies like aspirin or thienopyridines.
