Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of mesalamine (5-aminosalicylic acid) and a probiotic mixture containing Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Enterococcus faecalis. The mesalamine component inhibits inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2, leukotriene B4, and platelets in the serum of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), thereby reducing inflammation. The probiotic component helps improve intestinal mucosal barrier function, correct intestinal microecological disorders, promote the secretion of anti-inflammatory factors, and inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria. This combination has shown greater efficacy than mesalamine alone in treating mild to moderate inflammatory bowel diseases, particularly Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
