Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BAu-B111 is a specific probiotic strain of the Bifidobacterium genus. It is being investigated as a live biotherapeutic product for the treatment of functional constipation in patients with Parkinson's disease. The strain is often evaluated in combination with traditional Chinese medicine, such as the Liuweianxiao capsule, to modulate the gut microbiota and improve gastrointestinal motility.
