Overview

A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of bortezomib (a proteasome inhibitor), cytarabine (a nucleoside analog), and fludarabine (a purine nucleoside analog). This regimen is primarily used for treating relapsed/refractory leukemia, particularly acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The combination leverages synergistic effects between these drugs to enhance anti-cancer activity. Bortezomib may potentiate fludarabine activity by inhibiting DNA repair, while fludarabine increases the efficacy of cytarabine by enhancing the production of its active metabolite.
