Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Buzhong Yiqi Decoction (BZYQD) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula traditionally used to invigorate the spleen and replenish qi. It is a multi-herb decoction typically composed of ingredients such as *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Atractylodes macrocephala*, *Codonopsis*, *Angelica sinensis*, and *Bupleurum chinense*. In modern clinical research, it is being investigated for its immunomodulatory effects in autoimmune diseases like myasthenia gravis (MG), where it appears to regulate the diversity and structure of intestinal microbiota, restore the Firmicutes/Bacteroides ratio, and reduce levels of autoantibodies (AChR, MuSK, Titin) and pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-1β, IL-22). Additionally, it is studied in combination with surgical procedures like plasma enucleation of the prostate (PKEP) for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) complicated by detrusor underactivity, aiming to improve post-operative recovery and bladder function.
