Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cantabell A (CKD-333) is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical for the simultaneous management of hypertension and dyslipidemia. The medication contains three active small molecule ingredients: amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker), candesartan cilexetil (an angiotensin II receptor blocker), and atorvastatin (an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). Amlodipine and candesartan work through complementary pathways to reduce blood pressure by inducing peripheral vasodilation and blocking the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, while atorvastatin lowers serum cholesterol levels by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis. Cantabell A was developed to improve patient compliance by consolidating multiple therapeutic regimens into a single daily tablet and has received regulatory approval following successful phase 3 clinical evaluation.
