Overview

This is a combination of four antifungal agents with different mechanisms of action used for treating severe invasive fungal infections. **Components:** - **Caspofungin**: An echinocandin that inhibits fungal cell wall synthesis by targeting beta-(1,3)-D-glucan - **Efungumab**: A human recombinant antibody against fungal heat shock protein 90 (hsp90) - **Liposomal amphotericin B**: A liposomal formulation of amphotericin B that targets fungal ergosterol - **Voriconazole**: A triazole antifungal that inhibits fungal ergosterol biosynthesis This combination leverages multiple mechanisms to combat resistant fungal infections, particularly in immunocompromised patients. Studies have shown synergy between caspofungin and efungumab in treating Candida infections, and combinations of these antifungals have demonstrated efficacy in treating various invasive fungal infections.
