CGB-500 is a topical ointment formulation containing 0.5% or 1% tofacitinib, developed using proprietary ionic liquid technology by CAGE Bio. The drug is designed for the localized treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD), aiming to deliver the active ingredient efficiently through the skin barrier while minimizing systemic exposure. Tofacitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that modulates immune responses involved in inflammatory skin conditions. Clinical trials have demonstrated high efficacy, with significant improvements in Eczema Area Severity Index (EASI) scores and favorable safety profiles, including minimal adverse events and no significant local irritation[1][5][8].
