Overview

This is a combination of three antimicrobial agents: chloramphenicol (a protein synthesis inhibitor), imipenem (a carbapenem antibiotic), and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (a folate synthesis inhibitor combination). This combination may be used for severe infections, particularly melioidosis, where multiple antimicrobial agents with different mechanisms of action are needed to effectively treat the infection.
