This is a combination of three antibiotics—ciprofloxacin, piperacillin, and tazobactam—used together for the treatment of severe or complicated bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing DNA replication. Piperacillin is an extended-spectrum penicillin (ureidopenicillin) that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins. Tazobactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects piperacillin from enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamases produced by certain bacteria, thus extending its spectrum of activity. This combination may be used in clinical settings where broad-spectrum coverage against Gram-negative (including *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*), Gram-positive, and anaerobic bacteria is required—for example in severe intra-abdominal infections or hospital-acquired pneumonia[3][9]. The use of this triple regimen should be guided by local susceptibility patterns and reserved for situations where monotherapy or dual therapy may not provide adequate coverage.
