Overview

Comvax + Infanrix is a combination of two pediatric vaccines administered together to provide immunization against multiple infectious diseases.

Comvax is a bivalent vaccine containing Haemophilus influenzae type b capsular polysaccharide [polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP)] conjugated to an outer membrane protein complex (OMPC) of Neisseria meningitidis, as well as hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) produced in recombinant yeast cultures. It induces immunity against invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b and hepatitis B virus by stimulating the production of specific antibodies.
Infanrix is a noninfectious, sterile vaccine containing diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, and three purified acellular pertussis antigens [pertussis toxin (PT), filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), pertactin]. It provides active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis by inducing antibody responses to these bacterial toxins or proteins.
