Overview

Cyclophosphamide + filgrastim is a combination regimen used primarily in oncology to enable higher-dose or dose-intensified chemotherapy by mitigating the risk of severe neutropenia. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA, leading to cell death, and is widely used as an antineoplastic and immunosuppressive agent. Filgrastim is a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates the production and release of neutrophils from the bone marrow, reducing infection risk after myelosuppressive therapy. When administered together, filgrastim supports recovery from cyclophosphamide-induced neutropenia, allowing for higher or more frequent dosing of cytotoxic regimens in cancer treatment[1][2][3][5].
