Overview
Elores is a fixed-dose combination antibiotic adjuvant entity containing ceftriaxone (a third-generation cephalosporin), sulbactam (a beta-lactamase inhibitor), and disodium edetate (an antibiotic resistance breaker that chelates divalent ions required for metallo-beta-lactamase activity). This combination is designed to treat infections caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, including those producing extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) and metallo-beta-lactamases (MBLs). Fluconazole is a triazole antifungal agent that inhibits fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α-demethylase, thereby blocking ergosterol synthesis in the fungal cell membrane. The combined use of Elores with fluconazole targets both bacterial and fungal pathogens in mixed or complicated infections, such as sepsis or severe hospital-acquired infections[1][2][5].
