Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of filgrastim, a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates neutrophil production, and prednisolone, a corticosteroid. Filgrastim is used to reduce the duration of neutropenia and neutropenia-related clinical sequelae in patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy. Prednisolone is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties often included in chemotherapy regimens. This combination may be used in treatment protocols for conditions like Hodgkin's disease, where prednisolone is part of the chemotherapy regimen and filgrastim is used as supportive care.
