Overview
This is a combination chemotherapy regimen that includes granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), cisplatin, cytarabine, dexamethasone, and mitoxantrone. GM-CSF (sargramostim) is a cytokine that stimulates production and proliferation of dendritic cells and accelerates bone marrow recovery after chemotherapy. It helps reduce the duration of neutropenia and associated complications. The combination appears to be used in the treatment of hematologic malignancies and possibly solid tumors.
