Overview
Ivarmacitinib is a highly selective small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1), developed for the treatment of various immuno-inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. By selectively inhibiting JAK1, it modulates signaling pathways for cytokines such as IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, and IFN-gamma while sparing JAK2 to reduce risks like anemia and neutropenia. Ivarmacitinib has demonstrated efficacy in clinical trials for conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, ulcerative colitis, psoriatic arthritis, non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, Crohn's disease, vitiligo and graft-versus-host disease. It is administered orally and has shown a favorable safety profile in studies to date[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
