Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jet-Alert is an over-the-counter (OTC) central nervous system stimulant manufactured by Bell Pharmaceuticals. Its active ingredient is caffeine, a small molecule methylxanthine that helps restore mental alertness or wakefulness in individuals experiencing occasional fatigue or drowsiness. The product is available in two oral formulations: Regular Strength, containing 100 mg of caffeine per tablet, and Double Strength, containing 200 mg per caplet. Caffeine works primarily by antagonizing adenosine receptors in the brain, thereby inhibiting the sleep-promoting effects of endogenous adenosine. It is intended for use in adults and children 12 years of age and older and is marketed as a non-habit-forming, fast-acting aid for temporary alertness.
