**Lilexin** is the Chinese prescription brand of omega-3 fatty acid ethyl esters 90 soft capsules developed by Gowell for treatment of hypertriglyceridemia. It is an oral, highly concentrated mixture of omega-3 fatty-acid ethyl esters, principally eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid ethyl esters. The product lowers triglycerides primarily by reducing hepatic very-low-density-lipoprotein synthesis and secretion while promoting triglyceride breakdown in very-low-density lipoproteins and chylomicrons.
