Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pepticom is developing an AI-designed, orally administered peptide therapeutic targeting the IL-17 pathway for the treatment of plaque psoriasis. The program utilizes fully synthetic, small cyclic peptidomimetic inhibitors that target both IL-17A and IL-17F isoforms with nanomolar activity. These compounds are engineered for high stability and extended half-life using non-natural amino acids. By inhibiting IL-17-mediated inflammation, this drug aims to provide an oral alternative to existing injectable IL-17 blockers. The program is currently in the lead optimization phase, with a formal drug candidate expected to be announced in 2025.
