Physiogel A.I.

Physiogel A.I. (also known as Calming Relief A.I.) is a hypoallergenic topical skincare product developed by Stiefel (a GSK company) for the treatment of dry, irritated, and reactive skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and xerosis. Its primary active ingredient is palmidrol (palmitamide MEA), an endogenous fatty acid amide that acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic agent by modulating the endocannabinoid system, specifically through the activation of PPAR-alpha. The formulation also incorporates a BioMimic complex containing ceramides (such as ceramide 3), squalane, and lecithin to repair and strengthen the skin's moisture barrier. It is marketed as a preservative-free and fragrance-free cream or lotion suitable for sensitive skin in both adults and children. In 2020, the Physiogel brand was acquired by LG Household & Health Care from GSK.
