Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of prednisone (a corticosteroid) and sulfasalazine (an anti-inflammatory drug). This combination is used primarily for treating Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and rheumatoid arthritis. In Crohn's disease, adding prednisone to sulfasalazine results in significantly faster initial improvement compared to sulfasalazine alone. For rheumatoid arthritis, this combination is used as part of various therapeutic approaches, including double and triple therapy regimens.
