reRNA-22518 is a therapeutic self-amplifying mRNA (saRNA) vaccine candidate targeting Human Papillomavirus type 18 (HPV18). Developed by RNACure Biopharma, the vaccine utilizes the company's proprietary reRNA platform to deliver genetic instructions for the expression of HPV18-specific antigens, typically the E6 and E7 oncoproteins. This approach is designed to induce a potent and durable T-cell-mediated immune response against HPV18-positive tumor cells. In clinical settings, reRNA-22518 is often evaluated in combination with reRNA-25616 (an HPV16-targeting saRNA vaccine) and immune checkpoint inhibitors such as toripalimab for the treatment of advanced or metastatic HPV-positive solid tumors, including cervical, anal, and head and neck squamous cell carcinomas.
