RG1192 (also known as OTR4120 or RGD120) is a research-stage glycosaminoglycan (GAG) mimetic belonging to the ReGeneraTing Agent (RGTA) family. Developed by the French biotech OTR3, it is a chemically modified dextran polymer substituted with carboxymethyl, sulfate, and benzylamide groups. Structurally designed to mimic heparan sulfates, RG1192 stabilizes and potentiates heparin-binding growth factors (HBGFs) such as fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF-2) and hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) within the extracellular matrix. Additionally, it acts as a potent inhibitor of Cathepsin G. Preclinical studies have explored its potential in tissue repair and regeneration, including skeletal muscle, peripheral nerves, skin wounds, and intestinal fibrosis associated with Crohn's disease.
