Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LY03004 (Rykindo) is an extended-release injectable suspension of the atypical antipsychotic risperidone, developed by Luye Pharma Group using its proprietary long-acting and extended-release microsphere technology (NDDS). It is administered intramuscularly every two weeks and is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia and as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy to lithium or valproate for the maintenance treatment of Bipolar I Disorder. Unlike some other long-acting injectable antipsychotics, Rykindo does not require oral supplementation during the initiation period, which may improve patient compliance and treatment outcomes. Its mechanism of action involves potent antagonism of dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, effectively managing both positive and negative symptoms of psychosis while maintaining a favorable safety profile regarding extrapyramidal side effects.
