Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ruxolitinib cream is a topical Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema) in non-immunocompromised patients 12 years of age and older whose condition is not adequately controlled with other topical treatments or when these treatments are not recommended. It is also approved for treating nonsegmental vitiligo in adults and children 12 years and older. Ruxolitinib works by blocking the JAK enzyme, which prevents the activation of other proteins in the immune system, thereby reducing inflammation in the skin and preventing destruction of skin cells responsible for pigmentation.
