Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sini Powder (Sini San) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula composed of four primary ingredients: *Bupleurum chinense* (Chai Hu), *Citrus aurantium* (Zhi Shi), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Bai Shao), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gan Cao). Traditionally used to soothe the liver and regulate qi, it is being investigated for its therapeutic potential in several conditions. Clinical research led by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine has explored its use in combination with Suanzaoren Decoction for chronic insomnia, specifically targeting the TCM pattern of liver depression and blood deficiency. Additionally, preclinical studies have demonstrated that Sini Powder may possess anti-tumor properties in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by modulating the gut microbiota, alleviating stress responses, and downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines and stress-related proteins through pathways involving EGFR, SRC, and STAT3.
