SUN-C7512 is an investigational topical small molecule Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor developed by Sun Pharma for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. It is designed to target the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which is a key driver of the inflammatory response in atopic dermatitis. By inhibiting Janus kinases, SUN-C7512 blocks the signaling of several pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-4, IL-13, and IL-31, which are responsible for skin inflammation, barrier dysfunction, and pruritus (itching). As a topical agent, SUN-C7512 aims to provide localized therapeutic benefit directly to the skin while minimizing systemic absorption, thereby reducing the risk of systemic adverse effects associated with oral JAK inhibitors.
