Overview

Surlorian (ARM210) is a first-in-class small molecule therapeutic belonging to the Rycals® class, developed by RyCarma Therapeutics. It acts as an allosteric modulator of ryanodine receptors (RyRs), which are intracellular calcium release channels essential for muscle contraction. Surlorian is designed to repair "leaky" RyR channels—caused by genetic mutations or stress—by stabilizing the closed state and restoring normal calcium homeostasis without blocking the channel itself. The drug is being developed for Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFrEF) and Ryanodine receptor 1-Related Myopathies (RYR1-RM).
