TA-002

TA-002 is a topical small molecule inhibitor of Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) being developed by Shanghai Thederma for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. By selectively inhibiting JAK1, TA-002 blocks the signaling pathways of various pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-4, IL-13, and IFN-gamma, which are central to the inflammatory response in seborrheic dermatitis. This targeted approach aims to reduce skin inflammation, redness, and scaling while minimizing the systemic side effects typically associated with oral JAK inhibitors. TA-002 is designed for local application to provide potent anti-inflammatory effects directly at the site of the disease. As of 2024, the drug is in Phase 2 clinical development in China.
