Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TD-8236 is an investigational, inhaled, lung-selective pan-Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor developed by Theravance Biopharma for the treatment of respiratory diseases, primarily asthma. It is a small molecule drug designed to target airway inflammation in the lungs with minimal systemic exposure. By inhibiting all JAK family enzymes (pan-JAK), it aims to modulate a broad range of cytokines implicated in both Th2-high and Th2-low asthma phenotypes. The drug was evaluated in phase 1 and phase 2 clinical trials as an anti-inflammatory and antiasthmatic agent but its development for asthma has been suspended[2][3][4][7][8].
