Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oral adalimumab is an oral formulation of the anti-TNF-α monoclonal antibody adalimumab, developed by Intract Pharma in collaboration with Bio-Sourcing and Ciloa under the EU-funded AB-BIOBETTER project. This candidate utilizes Intract's proprietary oral delivery technologies, such as Soteria and Phloral, to stabilize the antibody against proteolytic degradation and ensure precision delivery to the colon. By providing a pill-based alternative to injectable adalimumab, it aims to improve patient compliance and provide localized treatment for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as other systemic immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. It is currently in the IND-enabling preclinical phase.
