Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AD-220 is an Addpharma fixed-dose oral lipid-lowering combination of **rosuvastatin 2.5 mg** and **ezetimibe 10 mg** being developed for hyperlipidemia. Rosuvastatin is a competitive inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase, reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis, while ezetimibe inhibits Niemann-Pick C1-like 1-mediated intestinal cholesterol absorption. A completed randomized Phase 1 pharmacokinetic study compared the fixed-dose combination with coadministration of its individual components in healthy volunteers.
