Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of six active pharmaceutical ingredients, each with distinct mechanisms and indications: - **Amlodipine** is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used primarily for hypertension and angina. It inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, resulting in vasodilation. - **Levofloxacin** is a third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, leading to inhibition of bacterial replication. It is used to treat various infections including respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue infections[3][5]. - **Prednisone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It modulates gene expression after binding to the glucocorticoid receptor. - **Propranolol** is a non-selective beta adrenergic antagonist (beta blocker) that reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, blood pressure, and has antiarrhythmic effects[6][7][9]. - **Ramipril** is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used for hypertension and heart failure; it blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II. - **Thiamazole (also known as methimazole)** is an antithyroid agent that inhibits thyroid hormone synthesis by blocking the oxidation of iodine in the thyroid gland. This combination does not correspond to any approved fixed-dose product or unique brand name; it represents concurrent use of these drugs.
