Its mechanism involves inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis (via prostaglandin G/H synthase 1/2), antagonism of phospholipase A2, inhibition of nuclear factor kappa-B signaling pathways, and modulation of immune responses[1][2][6][7]. This combination may be used together for synergistic management of inflammatory conditions such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease where pain control (codeine), inflammation reduction (prednisolone), and long-term immunomodulation (sulphasalazine) are required[1][3]. There is no evidence that this specific triple combination exists under a unique brand name; it appears to be prescribed off-label or compounded when clinically indicated.
